Canter Mid-Atlantic ‘Harleys For Horses’ Benefit Poker Run

Gaithersburg, MD (September 7, 2011) – Get your motor running and head out on the highway in the first ever CANTER Mid-Atlantic Benefit Poker Run to raise funds for the rehabilitation and rehoming of ex-racehorses.  This all inclusive event is open to Harleys, Hondas, Ducati’s and more, so ladies and gentlemen join the fun!

What:  100 Mile ride from Charles Town, WV to Boyce, VA

When:  Saturday, September 10, 2011 (rain date 9/17)

Where:  The Poker Run starts at Long Shots, Charles Town, WV

CANTER-Mid Atlantic volunteers regularly visit Charles Town Races & Slots in West Virginia, Pimlico Race Track in Baltimore, MD, Bowie Training Center in Bowie, MD, Laurel Race Course in Laurel, MD and Delaware Park, Wilmington, DE, to meet with trainers and owners of horses that are ready to retire from racing but are capable of beginning a second career.

CANTER (The Communication Alliance to Network Thoroughbred Ex-Racehorses) of Mid Atlantic is a free service offered to the Mid Atlantic racing trainers and owners to help them find non-race homes for their retiring racehorses.
