Cancelled Due To Weather: The Ridge at Wellington $15,000 Invitational Grand Prix Resumes Next Week

Wellington, FL- January 10, 2014- Inclement weather has put a hold on the Wellington Turf Tour's 1.40m Invitational Grand Prix. The class was scheduled to take place today Wolfstone Stables; however, the weather conditions have caused management to cancel this event for the week. The Wellington Turf Tour will take place at the International Polo Club Palm Beach next week.

Wellington, FL- January 10, 2014- Inclement weather has put a hold on the Wellington Turf Tour’s 1.40m Invitational Grand Prix. The class was scheduled to take place today Wolfstone Stables; however, the weather conditions have caused management to cancel this event for the week. The Wellington Turf Tour will take place at the International Polo Club Palm Beach next week.

  

In an effort to save the footing, and in the interest of the safety of the horses and the riders, the event has been canceled for today, Friday, January 10. The Ridge at Wellington would like to thank everyone for their weekly support and is proud to announce that the event will return next week at the prestigious International Polo Club Palm Beach (IPC) where the Wednesday 1.30-1.35m Jumpers and the Friday $15,000 1.40m Invitational Grand Prix will take place on the immaculate back fields. Management apologizes for the inconvenience, but have the horse and riders’ best interests at heart.

  

Remember to get in your entries for next week’s events at IPC. To avoid post-entry fees, please reserve your space ahead of time for a chance to compete on February 22.

The 10-week series culminates with the $24,750 Ridge at Wellington Invitational Grand Prix Finale on March 22, 2014 at Deeridge Farm in Wellington, FL. Entries are available for the Grand Prix by visiting the The Ridge at Wellington’s website. The event will return next Friday, January 17, at IPC.

  

The course opens at 8 a.m. and remains open until 4:30 p.m., allowing competitors ample time to come at their convenience to ride and enjoy the ambiance of estate showing. The $175,000 1.40m Invitational Grand Prix event will return to Wolfstone Stables for future events, and The Ridge at Wellington would like to thank Schuyler Riley and Wolfstone Stables for their hospitality.

Riders have the opportunity to ride over straight from the show grounds, or trailer their horses over while enjoying unparalleled hospitality and quality competition. The Ridge series is the perfect training opportunity to help riders and horses prepare for the classes held at the Winter Equestrian Festival, helping to end the daily grind and prevent complacency throughout the circuit.

 

Meadowbrook Horse Transport will provide transportation to and from the horse show and other locations throughout Wellington for both the Wednesday and Friday events. The transportation is a nominal fee of $50 per horse, and will be calculated into the final show fees.
