Canada Announces 2010 WEG Eventing Short List

The Canadian Eventing High Performance Committee has announced the Canadian eventing short list for the FEI Alltech World Equestrian Games. Nine horse-and-rider combinations have been named to the short list.

  • Hawley Bennett-Awad and Gin & Juice, 2000 brown American Thoroughbred    
  • Diana Burnett and Manny, 2000 bay Canadian Thoroughbred cross
  • Kyle Carter and Madison Park, 1998 bay American Thoroughbred       
  • Rebecca Howard and Riddle Master, 2001 bay Canadian Sport Horse
  • Michelle Mueller and Amistad, 1999 chestnut Canadian Thoroughbred cross              
  • Selena O’Hanlon and Colombo, 1994 bay Swedish Warmblood             
  • Jessica Phoenix and Exponential, 1998 bay Canadian Thoroughbred           
  • Stephanie Rhodes Bosch and Port Authority, 1998 bay Canadian-bred Selle Français
  • Ian Roberts and Napalm, 1996 grey Irish Sport Horse         

Riders will participate in training sessions and preparatory competitions throughout the summer. The final training camp will take place in September. The final team, which will consist of up to six horses, will also be selected at that time.

The team trains under the guidance of David O’Connor, international technical advisor, and Chef d’Equipe Graeme Thom.
