After Burghley, EEP will air their five-part mini-series “Eventing: The Ultimate Horse Sport,” appearing on consecutive Fridays starting Dec. 2, on RFD-TV.

Another behind-the-scenes series will air in February, on the Animal Planet network. “Horse Power: Road To The Maclay” features in-depth coverage of equitation stars as they strive to qualify for and win the ASPCA Maclay Finals. Animal Planet production crews followed the junior riders everywhere all summer and fall, and show the real-life behind-the-scenes moments as well as the glory in the ring. The series premieres Feb. 1 at 8 p.m. on Animal Planet.

Animal Planet will also debut a two-hour program called “Trail Mix” on Jan. 29 at 8 p.m. The show highlights the bond that various celebrities—such as country singer LeAnn Rimes, pop artist Rob Thomas, and rocker Joe Perry of Aerosmith, to name a few—have with their horses.

Finally, in March, Animal Planet will show the Animal Planet Sporthorse Cup, a unique international jumper class that featured the top seven riders from the Syracuse Invitational Sporthorse Tournament (N.Y.) in three phases of competition. The show includes footage taken from camera attached to a rider’s helmet and to the horse’s browband. The hour-long show debuts March 6 at 8 p.m. on Animal Planet.
