British Driving Team Will Miss WEG

Great Britain is unlikely to send a full driving team to this year’s Alltech FEI World Equestrian Games in Kentucky, according to Horse and Hound.

It would cost approximately $400,000 to transport a full team of 15 horses and six carriages across the Atlantic.

If drivers wish to compete, they will have to pay their own way or fundraise on their own.

The British Equestrian Federation plans to send full teams in all other WEG disciplines. Olympic and Paralympic disciplines are lottery-funded by UK Sport, but the remaining disciplines will have to fund the majority themselves.
