On Jan. 22, the Fédération Equestre Internationale Tribunal announced they would not interfere with the FEI Bureau’s decision to demote the British and Belgian show jumping teams from the top tier of the FEI Nations Cup series.

On Sep. 17, the Bureau demoted the bottom three teams in the FEI Meydan Nations Cup league to the Promotional League. Usually only two teams are demoted; however Britain and Belgium were tied, leading to the ultimate decision to remove both teams, along with Italy.

Britain then appealed this decision in December of 2009, and the case was dismissed by the Tribunal today.

Britain, Belgium and Italy will now compete in the Promotional League, and Spain and Canada will move into the Nations Cup league.
