First Brentina Foal Born

Dressage superstar Brentina has given birth through embryo transfer to her first foal. The black colt is by Leatherdale Farm’s Damsey.

Damsey is an 8-year-old Hanoverian stallion (Dressage Royal—Ria Grande) owned by Doug and Louise Leatherdale.

Another Brentina foal, by Leslie Morse’s Grand Prix dressage stallion Kingston, is due in a couple of weeks.

Debbie McDonald rode Brentina during her illustrious career, and their highlights together included team and individual gold at the 1999 Pan American Games, team bronze at the 2004 Athens Olympic Games, team silver at the 2002 World Equestrian Games in Jerez, Spain, and team bronze at the 2006 WEG in Aachen, Germany. In 2003 McDonald and Brentina became the first U.S. pair ever to win the FEI World Cup Final.
