Dressage superstar Brentina has another foal on the ground, this one by Leslie Morse’s top Grand Prix stallion Kingston. Through embryo transfer, Peggy and Parry Thomas’ Hanoverian mare (Brentano II—Lieselotte) had her first foal by Damsey at the end of April.

Unfortunately, the carrying mare did not survive the delivery this time according to Dressage-News.com.

Debbie McDonald said the staff members at Pollyrich Farm in Solvang, Calif., did a terrific job saving the foal and are working hard to try to find a substitute mare.

“Leslie came up with a name, and it sounds like the Thomases and [their daughter] Jane like it: ‘Brighton,’ ” said McDonald. “I love it.”
