Eventing and dressage power couple Boyd and Silva Martin announced this morning, April 15, that they are expecting their first child.
“Towards the end of September the new bambino’s expecting to come out!” said Boyd. “I’m a little bit terrified, but it should be good. Silva and I are in a place in our lives where we’re set up to handle something like this, and it should be a lot of fun.”
Silva’s doctor is a competitive hunter/jumper rider and can relate to Silva’s not wanting to break stride in her dressage business out of the couple’s Windurra USA farm in Cochranville, Pa.
“The doctor said Silva could keep riding her dressage horses right up until the last moment in the pregnancy,” said Boyd.
They’ll be able to narrow down their ideas for names when they find out the sex of the baby in a couple of weeks.
“A lot of my ideas Silva’s still coming around to!” said Boyd with a laugh. “If it’s a boy, I like the name Spartan Martin or Floyd Martin. It’s got a good ring to it!
“Although with Silva’s German heritage, we were thinking about something like Wolfgang Martin,” Boyd added.
