Blue Hors Matine, the Grand Prix freestyle silver medalist from the 2006 World Equestrian Games in Aachen, Germany, with Andreas Helgstrand, has been retired as a broodmare.
Matine (by Blue Hors Silver Moon) sustained an injury to her left front leg while unloading from the van from the airport to the Thomas & Mack Arena for the 2007 Rolex FEI World Cup Final for Dressage in Las Vegas, Nev.

Owner Blue Hors Stud made every effort to restore the 12-year-old gray mare back to her winning form, but eventually they made the decision to breed her.
Ridden to fame by Helgstrand of Denmark, the partnership won the individual bronze medal in the Special in addition to the freestyle silver at the 2006 WEG. Their freestyle performance on YouTube had generated more than 9 million views. Their performance featured pop hits from the 1980s and ’90s, including “Lady Marmalade” and highlighted the mare’s lofty piaffe and passage, expressive gaits and signature flying tail.
