A former Bureau of Land Management employee has been charged with killing three horses in Rock Springs, Wyo. According to TheHorse.com, Yellowstone County Sheriff’s deputies and BLM law enforcement officers arrested Jason Hein, 39, in Billings, Mont on Sept 24.
Hein was charged with three felony counts of aggravated cruelty to animals, one misdemeanor count of unlawful killing of wild horses and three counts of property destruction and defacement. He was a BLM maintenance employee at the time.

On June 12, a BLM employee discovered two domestic horses owned by BLM wranglers and one wild mustang fatally shot in a federal corral when he arrived to feed them.
If convicted, Hein faces up to two years in prison and fines up to $5,000 for each animal cruelty charge, up to six months in prison and fines up to $750 for the wild horse killing charge, and up to 10 years in prison and fines up to $10,000 on the property charges.
