Patrick Martin Byrne’s BGS Country Dreams died on cross-country during the CICO*** at the Millstreet International Horse Trials (Ireland) on Aug. 25. The pair was representing Ireland on one of their two Nations Cup teams when the 9-year-old Irish Sport Horse (Power Blade—Emmas Courage) fell at fence 22, The Gypsy Wagon.
Byrne was not injured in the fall, and a necropsy will be performed on BGS Country Dreams at the Irish Equine Centre.
Byrne brought the gelding up through the levels, and Millstreet was the pair’s first three-star.
