Wellington, FL -March 1, 2010 – Animal Awareness is pleased to announce that it will be hosting a series of equine and canine clinics throughout the spring and summer at Lady Jean Ranch in Jupiter, Florida. The clinics will be hosted by licensed massage therapist Jean-Pierre Hourdebaigt, and cover the topics of massaging and stretching. Animal Awareness is an exciting new website for animal lovers that promotes home care health programs.
The Equine Clinics will be held March 20 and 21, April 17 and 18, May 22 and 23, and June 26 and 27, 2010. The Canine Clinics will be held March 6 and 7, April 3, May 15 and 16, and June 12 and 13, 2010.
The skills learned at the clinic will help improve an animal’s attitude, flexibility, recovery and performance. Hourdebaigt will give each attendee feedback on their animal’s musculature condition and fitness.
The clinics will cover a variety of topics. The first will be massage guidelines, which include approach, feedback signs, proper posture, the four T’s of palpation, pressure, contact, rhythm, duration, and contra-indications. Hourdebaigt will then go over massage movements such as stroking, effleurage, wringing, and kneading. A relaxation massage routine, a maintenance massage routine, stretching exercises and the ice-cup massage technique will also be covered during the clinic. Each participant will receive a handout that includes all of the information that is covered during the clinic, as well as a muscular chart of the animal.
