Allentown, N.J.—May 15
Yesterday, all eyes were on the Jersey Fresh CCI and CIC horses on cross-country. This morning, it was more about listening to them. The rhythmic clip-clop of a sound horse was a welcome refrain as the CCI***, CIC***, CCI** and CIC** horses jogged for their third horse inspection this morning.
Breaths were held as horses trotted down the pavement, then exhaled as announced Brian O’Connor delivered the ground jury’s verdict. And there weren’t too many surprises today, as just one horse was not accepted, Maggie Deatrick’s Divine Comedy in the CCI** division. The ground jury held the flashy chestnut after Deatrick’s first trip down the jog lane, then decided not to let them continue after seeing them jog again.
There were some tense moments when the ground jury asked CIC*** leader Tiana Coudray to take Master Hill to the holding area after their first jog, but upon re-inspection, they approved them to continue and show jump this afternoon.
Arden Wildasin’s morning didn’t go quite as well. Her CCI** horse, Totally Awesome Bosco, was accepted and they are fourth in that division, but the ground jury held her third-placed CIC** horse, Powderhound. Wildasin withdrew Powderhound before presenting him again.

David Koss and Look Sweet, in seventh in the CCI*** division, were held for re-inspection, but passed when the ground jury had a second look.
The only horse to not present this morning was Laine Asker’s Rising Spirit in the CIC** division.
Show jumping starts at 10:30, with the CIC** division jumping first, and then the CCI** division at 11:30, the CIC*** division at 1:00 and the CCI*** division at 2:00. Check back in this afternoon for all the final results, photos and video.
