Luitpold Animal Health—a division of Luitpold Pharmaceuticals Inc., and manufactures of Adequan IM, Adequan IA and Adequan Canine—announced a revised target date of late August for the re-release of Adequan products to the market. The previous estimated release date was the first quarter of 2014.

Luitpold renovated and upgraded its Shirley, N.Y., manufacturing facility in 2012, and the renovations affected Luitpold’s ability to manufacture and release Adequan, resulting in the current shortages. Luitpold has been working closely with the Food and Drug Administration to ensure that Adequan is made available as soon as possible. As a result of the efforts, the target date for product availability was changed.
