6 Wins, 3 Horses, 1 Rider: Watch Colvin’s WCHR Hunter Spectacular Wins

Each February hunter riders flock to Wellington, Florida, to vie for a spot in the $50,000 USHJA WCHR Peter Wetherill Palm Beach Hunter Spectacular, which pits amateurs, juniors and professionals against one another. To win just once would be a huge accomplishment for any rider, and a handful have done it more than once.

But there’s one rider who has already won the feature class of Week 6 of the Winter Equestrian Festival six times, and on Feb. 20, Tori Colvin will have the opportunity to make it lucky No. 7.

Colvin, 23, earned her first win when she was just 14 with the quirky Way Cool in 2012. She followed that with three consecutive victories aboard Ovation. For three years others had the opportunity to claim the title, but in 2019 Colvin returned in dominating fashion with top derby horse Private Practice. She repeated the feat again in 2020.

In anticipation of this year’s Hunter Spectacular, we thought it’d be fun to take a trip down memory lane to look at Colvin’s previous wins.
