Apr 20, 2011 - 11:54 AM

The Fédération Equestre Internationale announced today, April 20, that although title sponsor Meydan will not financially support the 2011 FEI Nations Cup series, the prize money offered to competitors will remain the same.

The Meydan sponsorship ended in 2010, and the company has chosen to sponsor FEI endurance competition instead.

The FEI is currently in negotiations with potential sponsors for the Nations Cup Top League.

“The FEI Nations Cup is our top product, and the FEI is delighted to announce that the 2011 series will go ahead with its prize money maintained at the 2010 level,” FEI President HRH Princess Haya said. “We are happy that discussions are ongoing with several partners for the series.”

The United States, Belgium, Denmark, Germany, Great Britain, Ireland, the Netherlands and reigning champion France will compete in the 2011 series.

The 2011 FEI Nations Cup schedule is as follows:

  • La Baule (France): May 13
  • Rome (Italy): May 27
  • St Gallen (Switzerland): June 3
  • Falsterbo (Sweden): July 8
  • Aachen (Germany): July 14
  • Hickstead (England): July 29
  • Dublin (Ireland): Aug. 5
  • Rotterdam (the Netherlands): Aug. 26
