Exponential Is Sore But Unharmed

Jessica Phoenix and Exponential narrowly avoided a nasty fall on cross-country yesterday, Oct. 2, at the Land Between The Lakes complex, but they recovered to finish clean and just over the time as an individual pair for Canada.

Unfortunately, Exponential didn’t come away from the incident unscathed. He put one knee down on the ground, and it swelled up after finishing, so Phoenix decided not to present him at the jog today, Oct. 3.

“Fortunately, it’s just soft tissue damage,” said Phoenix. “He’ll be fine. I can probably start riding him again in a week or so.”

Despite her personal disappointment, Phoenix was thrilled for the Canadian team to win silver.
