What An Inspiring Freestyle Night!

The Grand Prix freestyle on Friday night was promoted as the "Big Event," and it certainly was. The stadium was sold out, and everyone was in a good mood. Moorlands Totilas fulfilled everyone’s expectations and won by a big margin. Mistral Horjis did an outstanding job for Laura, and Ravel just made all of us smile with appreciation. However, the ONLY horse which received a standing ovation from just about every individual in the stadium was, yes, the Spanish horse Fuego.

Watching his rider doing one-handed one-tempis down the centerline just gave me goosebumps. Yes, it was a showy freestyle, and yes, there were some movements which could be even better, BUT it was FUN, exciting to watch and every one of us in the stands appreciated it!

Back to reality—here at KER we are packing up, in between running to the lounge to watch cross-country and cheer on our fellow U.S. riders.

Robin rode Ralee lightly, after which he got his final bath. Since only three trailers are allowed to bring our 10 horses in, I will be taking Wendy Fryke’s Lateran and Jonathan Wentz Richterscale in my trailer.

It will be a busy day! I’ll get back to you tomorrow (if I can find WiFi)!

Until then
