Waking up this morning wasn’t easy. It’s funny when you wake up, and there are those few moments when you’re not really up, and you forget the problems in your life. It’s weird walking into the barn and not seeing Cooper in his stall. I keep looking for him in his pasture when I’m hacking.
I visit Cooper a lot, and unfortunately things aren’t going as well as I wish they would. Doctor Bogenrief from the Estrella Equine Hospital came to check out Cooper this weekend, which was very nice of him. He did the colic surgeries on [my former advanced horse] Kozmo and saved his life numerous times.
Cooper has a fairly high temperature due to an infection. We are hoping it’s coming from the suture line. Keep your fingers crossed that this is where it is coming from. Super Cooper is not out of the woods, in other words.
To say that this has been an emotional rollercoaster is an understatement, and I’m praying that he takes a turn for the better in the next few days.
