Keeping The Barn In Order

Here I sit on a plane to England again, and this time without my horse. I'm really looking forward to getting to Burghley and seeing all the action! Especially since Phillip is currently winning after the first day of dressage, and everyone at the barn is so excited.

This week has been quite busy, as always. We've all been tightening out belts with big Phil and Emma being gone. I must say I've enjoyed getting to ride the likes of Kheops du Quesnay and Woodburn. I hope that they feel top notch when big Phil gets home!

With the AECs fast approching, I’ve been doing some serious dressage training with “the German,” as I like to call her. Silva Martin has been seriously tuning up my changes and half-pass on Cooper.

Cambalda has been learning how to passage and slow his tempo down. It’s by far the most interesting thing I have watched, and I find myself willing him to collect and lift. The first day he looked a bit frantic trotting around. Silva is an amazing rider! Jan Byyny came yesterday and took three dressage lessons with Silva with a broken leg and without stirrups! She’s an inspiration.

Well, I’m sure everyone will find my upcoming blogs far more interesting considering they will contain all the Burghley news!!

Talk to everyone soon,
