LAWRENCE C. GAYER JR.

Lawrence C. Gayer Jr., manufacturer of saddles and equine equipment, died at his home in Lovettsville, Va., Nov. 16. He was 66.

Mr. Gayer founded Gayer’s Saddlery retail stores in Maryland and Virginia and owned the Bona Allen Saddle Company. He also established Foxwood Manufacturing & Distributing Company, Inc., a leading importer and manufacturer of saddlery and equestrian equipment.

Along with his business ventures, Mr. Gayer brought horses from the Midwest to the East Coast to sell for showing, foxhunting and trail riding.

Mr. Gayer is survived by his wife Sandy Gayer and his son Larry Gayer.
