A 19-year-old from Hialeah, Santiago Cabrera, was arrested Sept. 21 in connection with the Miami-Dade horse killings, according to the Miami Herald.
Cabrera was charged with armed burglary, animal cruelty, killing a registered breed horse and breaking or injuring a fence. Last week Luis Miguel Cordero, 18, was arrested on similar charges.
Cabrera and Cordero are believed to be among four people who took part in killing a horse at two different farms. Miami-Dade police are still searching for two other suspects. However, at least 17 horses have been slaughtered this year in South Florida, and it’s unclear if the two teens can be linked to the other horse killings.

Police believe the killers are selling horse meat on the black market.
Cabrera allegedly confessed to taking part in a killing at the Lazy L Ranch, where he received $500 for cutting through the fence and tying a strap around King Quizi’s neck, then muffling the horse’s cries as he was butchered.
Investigators said he was paid $800 for a previous job, July 9, at the Stone City Ranch.
