Artist Eileen F. Sorg's interest in horses developed due, in large part, to her close friendship with Jim, her Morgan-Appaloosa gelding. Born in Pacific Northwest, Sorg was also inspired by the magnificent landscape surrounding her. She graduated from the University Of Washington with a degree in wildlife science.

Artist Eileen F. Sorg’s interest in horses developed due, in large part, to her close friendship with Jim, her Morgan-Appaloosa gelding. Born in Pacific Northwest, Sorg was also inspired by the magnificent landscape surrounding her. She graduated from the University Of Washington with a degree in wildlife science.

Sorg’s choice of mediums has charged over the years, but one thing has remained constant: her love of the colored pencil. She currently uses a layering process of India ink, watercolor and colored pencil, which extracts the best qualifies of each medium and turns out rich pieces of art.

In addition, to her affinity for horses, Sorg, Kingston, Wash., also paints wildlife and plants.
