Elkton, Md.—Oct. 18
Twenty-six horses were presented in the first horse inspection for the Mars Maryland 5 Star at Fair Hill, and all 26 were accepted. Only one horse was sent to the hold box, Erin Kanara’s Campground, but the 16-year-old Thoroughbred passed upon re-inspection.
Tamie Smith and Liz Halliday-Sharp, who are part of the U.S. Eventing Team heading to Chile for the Pan American Games, were the judges for the Dubarry of Ireland Best Dressed Awards. They gave the awards to Oliver Townend of Great Britain and Monica Spencer of New Zealand.

The five-star riders will start dressage tomorrow at 2 p.m., with Ireland’s Austin O’Connor and Colorado Blue as the first to head down centerline.
