World Equestrian Center—Ocala Unveils 2021 Guide to Winter Spectacular Featuring $9 Million in Prize Money and Prizes Offered

Ocala, Florida—Oct. 27, 2020– The World Equestrian Center is pleased to present the Guide to World Equestrian Center – Ocala Winter Spectacular in advance of the grand opening of its state-of-the-art facility in January 2021. The Guide contains highlights of the 12-week winter hunter/jumper horse show circuit, which runs January 6 through March 28, along with associated prize money, special classes and events and other important information. Entries for the Winter Spectacular will open November 16, 2021.

Two weeks of the World Equestrian Center – Ocala Winter Spectacular competition are CSI3* USEF premier rated (pending approval) and the remaining 10 weeks will be sanctioned by the National Snaffle Bit Association (NSBA), an organization with nearly 40 years of equestrian sport governance.

“We have all been anticipating the World Equestrian Center – Ocala facility opening and I promise it is going to be amazing,” said Roby Roberts. “We’ve created a schedule that will give our exhibitors from lead line to the Grand Prix levels a top quality competition experience at a facility that is second to none.”

Jumper Competition Highlights

The jumper competition schedule includes: 13 CSI3* classes, 12 WEC Grand Prix classes and 180 Jumper Classics throughout the circuit. The weekly competition snapshot includes:

•$250,000 World Equestrian Center Grand Prix (Week 12)
•$150,000 World Equestrian Center Grand Prix (Weeks 1, 4-11)
•$100,000 World Equestrian Center Grand Prix (Weeks 2-3)
•$20,000 Futures Prix 1.35m (Weeks 1-12)
•$20,000-$3,500 Jumper Classics for every level (Weeks 1-12)

Hunter Competition Highlights

The World Equestrian Center—Ocala Winter Spectacular features a World Champion Hunter Rider (WCHR) week and hunter competition opportunities for all levels including:

•World Champion Hunter Rider Week (Week 2)
•$30,000 USHJA International Hunter Derby (Week 2, WCHR)
•$30,000 USHJA National Hunter Derby (Week 2, WCHR)
•$100,000 WEC 3’ Open and Non-Pro Derbies (Week 12)
•$100,000 3’6” Hunter Derbies (Week 12)
•54 WEC Hunter Derbies from 2’6” to 3’6” (Weeks 1-12)
•300 $6,000-$500 Hunter Classics (Weeks 1-12)

WEC Premier Cup Returns in Ocala

Equitation riders can qualify for the WEC Premier Equitation Cup competition during Week six, where the winner receives prizes including a brand-new car. New this year is a $100,000 trainer bonus for the equitation class.
