2016 Saratoga Springs Horse Show getting ready to welcome Exhibitors and Guests to the 56th Consecutive Horse Show in Historic Saratoga Springs New York

SARATOGA SPRINGS, NY – March 1, 2016 – Volunteers are working hard getting everything ready to welcome the Exhibitors and Guest to this year’s Saratoga Springs Horse Show.  This is the first USEF Premier (AA) Rating and USEF Jumper 4/3 Rating Outdoor Show in the Northeast.  The show features Hunters, Jumpers, and Equitation classes held in three rings. The Saratoga Springs Horse Show acts as the biggest fundraiser each year for The Capital Fund of Saratoga County, Inc.

SARATOGA SPRINGS, NY – March 1, 2016 – Volunteers are working hard getting everything ready to welcome the Exhibitors and Guest to this year’s Saratoga Springs Horse Show.  This is the first USEF Premier (AA) Rating and USEF Jumper 4/3 Rating Outdoor Show in the Northeast.  The show features Hunters, Jumpers, and Equitation classes held in three rings. The Saratoga Springs Horse Show acts as the biggest fundraiser each year for The Capital Fund of Saratoga County, Inc.

Held on the grounds of the famed artist retreat Yaddo, a national historic landmark, and the historic Saratoga Race Course, this year’s show will be the 56th consecutive year of competition.  Since its beginning in 1961 the show has grown from a one day event held on the infield of the Oklahoma track to the present three week competition now occurring at the Yaddo horse show grounds.  Over the years, it has hosted many famous horses and rider including several Olympians, and has become the favorite stop for many of our exhibitor.  

The 2016 show will be offering over $300,000 in prizes and awards to the winners and the placing participants during the competition.  The main events will include the $30,000 Saratoga Cup on May 7th, the $30,000 David B. Wood Cup on May 14th, and the $15,000 Sullivan Cup on May 21st.  Other major events include $2500/$5000 USHJA National Hunter Derby, $5000 Show Jumping Hall of Fall–High Jr. / Amateur Owner Jumper Classic, $4000/$3500 Low Jr. / Amateur Owner Jumper Classic, and an Off-Track Thoroughbred Hunter Division.  In total there are:  52 Hunter Divisions, 24 Equitation Divisions, and 24 Jumper Divisions being offered. 

As part of the show’s event, each Saturday will be Exhibitor and Sponsor appreciation nights and celebrated with a Kentucky Derby, a Mother’s Day, and a Preakness Day parties.  There is free coffee and pastries each morning, and free Ben and Jerry’s Ice Cream on Fridays. 

The staff and volunteers are committed to making the Saratoga Spring Horse Show one of the best venues on your horse show calendar.   World famous Saratoga Springs has much to offer the visiting competitor, so don’t forget to come for top notch competition and enjoy all that the show and surrounding area has to offer and plan for a good time to be had by all.
