North Salem, NY – February 11, 2014 – In its second year at Old Salem Farm, organizers of The  American Gold Cup, Stadium Jumping and Old Salem Farm, pulled out all the stops to create a much-lauded, world-class show jumping event. This week the North American Riders Group (NARG) recognized the team’s hard work and named The American Gold Cup the 2013 NARG Most Improved Top 25 award, moving it up nine spots to third place.

The NARG report dubbed it the ‘Glorious Gold Cup,’ and noted that the Old Salem Farm’s grass grand prix field was prepared well. They added, “The course design and jumps were superb. Prize money increased, which is always appreciated. Top that off with great hospitality, where not only was there no entry fee for the grand prix but all FEI riders were given two armbands to the exquisite two-story Hermès VIP.”

“We couldn’t be happier than to have NARG recognize our efforts,” said Michael Morrissey, President of Stadium Jumping. “Our goal was to create a really unique, European-style show jumping providing excellence in the competition experience for the athletes, all the excitement, elegance and glamour of the sport for VIPs and an engaged broader audience. We look forward to next year.”

The Gold Cup earned additional points for offering four world-ranking classes. NARG complimented the marketing and media efforts and the resulting Sunday capacity crowd as well as the broadcasts on ShowNet, USEF Network, FEI TV and NBC Sports Network.

“We thank our sponsors and partners, especially Double H Farm, Suncast, Hermès, Danbury Porsche Audi, Trelawny Farm, Windsor Show Stables, Roberto Coin and Westchester County, for sharing our vision,” said Morrissey.
