The Professional Riders Organization is very pleased to announce that Densey Juvonen has been selected as the recipient of the 2012 As You Like It Owner’s Award. Mrs. Juvonen will be honored December 7, 2012 at 6:30 PM at the PRO Awards Reception at the Broadmoor Resort in Colorado Springs site of the 2012 USEA Convention.
Densey Juvonen has been involved in the sport of eventing on and off for about twenty years. She is an avid foxhunter and in the last five years has greatly influenced the career of Boyd Martin by supporting his syndications of Neville Bardos, Otis Barbotiere, HH Lancaster and Trading Aces. Mrs. Juvonen also owns Remington XXV, formerly ridden by Boyd Martin and now campaigned by Caitlin Silliman.
Sara Kozumplik started the PRO As You Like It Owner’s Award in honor of her former upper level horse, As You Like It. The award is offered annually to an owner who has had a large impact on a rider’s career and made exceptional contributions to the sport of eventing. In his nomination letter, Boyd Martin wrote “Densey has greatly influenced my career by introducing me to other wonderful people that have supported me and helped me achieve my goals. Densey has such a friendly demeanor and caring spirit and she’s always approachable. She’s gone on to support another young up and coming rider by letting Caitlin Silliman take over the reins on Remington.”

Mrs. Juvonen will receive a Waterford Crystal Trophy and $5,000 in prize money that shall be donated in her name to any PRO Tour event of her choice.
“Perhaps like no other sport, owners make such a great impact on both an individual rider and the sport as a whole,” said Mark Hart, MD Chair of the PRO Awards Committee “we encourage the riders to honor their owners by sending in a nomination each year.”
The PRO Awards Reception is open to the public, which is invited to join PRO members in honoring all the award recipients on the evening of December 7th.
