In my trailer, bound for Saugerties: my big green upright trunk (since I don’t have a tack stall for just the one horse), complete with grooming stuff, bathing stuff, tack cleaning stuff. Fly sheet, scrim sheet, stable sheet (54* nights! woohoo!). Hay, grain, shavings. Wheelbarrow, fork, step stool, braiding stuff. A little cooler filled with sandwiches, homemade watermelon applesauce (amazing!), water.
In Amy’s trailer, bound for Morven: standing saddle racks, bridle hooks. Grooming, bathing, tack cleaning. Sheets. Table, chairs, tack room banners. Hay, grain, shavings, etc.
In my medium-sized suitcase, bound for Saugerties: white breeches, show shirts. Stock tie, doofy tall socks. Running clothes. Dressy dinner clothes. Cute shoes. Hair dryer, eyeliner, perfume.

In my small suitcase, sitting in my car, bound for Morven: jeans, layers. Dubarries (50 percent chance of rain on Saturday, as if the weather report has ANY idea, but you never know). Comfortable, supportive shoes. Bug spray.
In my fridge, waiting for me to come home and take a break between shows Friday night: a delicious stuffed squash, so all I have to do is microwave it and plop myself on the couch to recuperate. Snacks to take to Morven, since with 23 rides on Saturday and 18 on Sunday, there won’t be much time for lunch. Oh, and a bottle of champagne. It’s a tradition here that, after a horse’s first Grand Prix, we drink champagne. Technically Midge has competed at the Grand Prix level before, but this is the first time he’ll do the Big Boy Grand Prix test, the same one competed at the Olympics and World Cup and World Equestrian Games. Plus, I like champagne.
