Toyota’s 100 Cars for Good program selected the Kentucky Horse Park Foundation as one of 500 finalists to win a Toyota Tundra truck.
The program, a philanthropic initiative in which the automaker is giving 100 cars to 100 nonprofits over the course of 100 days, received more than 4,000 applications nationwide.
Every day since May 14, 100 Cars for Good profiles five finalists at www.100carsforgood.com. People then vote for whichever nonprofit they think can do the most good with a new vehicle. The nonprofit with the most votes at the end of each day will win one of six Toyota models. Runners-up will each receive a $1,000 cash grant from Toyota.
The Kentucky Horse Park Foundation will be up for consideration on Sunday, May 20, from 10 a.m. EDT to 11:59 p.m. EDT.
Laura Klumb, executive director for the Kentucky Horse Park Foundation, said this is the first year the foundation applied for this program. “It’s desperately needed in a time of a tight budget for the horse park,” she said.

The truck would be used to feed and care for the 130 horses at the park, trailer horses to educational and outreach events, and maintain the horse park landscape and fences. The 1,200 acre horse park hosts approximately 1 million annual visitors.
“Everyone at the Kentucky Horse Park is thrilled that the foundation has been selected as a finalist for the 2012 100 Cars for Good program,” Klumb said. “It’s very generous of Toyota.”
A six-year, 100,000-mile powertrain warranty will also be provided for each vehicle, compliments of Toyota Financial Services.
