The No. 9 SMU equestrian team announced the signing of Mary Abruzzese to a national letter of intent today.
“We are very excited to have Mary join our team,” assistant coach Natalie Burton said. “Our success this season is something we can build on, and we know Mary will be able to contribute and have an immediate impact for us.”
Abruzzese, a native of Lake Worth, Fla., placed third in the 2011 USEF Talent Search East Coast Finals in equitation on the flat. She has also placed multiple times and has earned several wins in equitation and junior jumpers on the WEF and HITS circuits. Abruzzese trains with Amy Momrow of Stepping Stone Farm.
