The National Horse Show Association of America announced on March 11 that R. Bruce Duchossois has been named to the Board of Directors.

“I started showing at the National in the 60s at the old Garden, and in 1973 I was champion aboard Kim’s Song,” said Duchossois, 61. “So the National was and always will be the highlight of my riding career. I am honored to be a part of the National Horse Show and so glad that it has found a new home worthy of its ongoing tradition of excellence.”

The second edition of the Alltech National Horse Show in Lexington, Ky., is set for Oct. 31-Nov. 4 in the Alltech Arena at the Kentucky Horse Park.

Duchossois, of Aiken, S.C., first gained national attention when riding his famed hunter Kim’s Song to AHSA Horse of the Year and to championships at the Pennsylvania National, the Washington International (D.C.) and the National Horse Show in New York City.
