Devon, PA – July 6, 2011 – The Brandywine Valley Summer Series, presented by Taylor Harris Insurance Services (THIS) is pleased to announce that Get Real Get RAW is one of this year’s top sponsors. Get Real Get RAW is a non-profit organization founded by Lisa Maguire promoting health and healing through raw and living foods. The Brandywine Valley Summer Series is currently being held at the prestigious Devon Show Grounds July 6-10, 2011, with a local day of competition on Monday July 11, 2011. The event features a full array of hunter/jumper events for horses and riders.

Lisa Maguire founded Get Real Get RAW in 2009, with the support of her two sisters Pamela Miller Christian and Mindy Moore, in their mission to promote health and healing through raw foods. Get Real Get RAW is the brainchild of Maguire, and was formed after a life-changing experience in February, 2009. Together with her sisters, Lisa traveled to We Care Spa in Desert Hot Springs, CA, where she learned about a new way of eating and living. The introduction of the healing power of fresh, organically-grown fruits and vegetables impacted the lives of all three sisters and their families.

“Our daughter rides with Louise and we wanted to participate. We don’t normally work as a vendor at events, I work more with schools within the community and other organizations, but Louise [Serio] really loves the ‘Groothie,’ so she really wanted us to be here,” explained Maguire. “Louise wanted to get her Groothie on everyday, so we set up and started making smoothies. We do Groothies, which is our smoothie, and we also do banana whips, which is like a banana ice cream, green lemonade, and green tea. It has been a fabulous event.”

The goal of Get Real Get RAW is to inspire humanity to explore and participate in the growing, preparing, and consumption of fresh, organic, raw fruits, vegetables and greens. They work to educate people from all walks of life about the healing power of raw foods. The replication of their products and programs is possible across the country and around the world.

“I love the show, I think it’s such a tremendous opportunity for these kids. Gorgeous show grounds and it’s a lot of fun,” noted Maguire. “There’s a wonderful crowd. We have had a great time, and it’s really busy. Everyone seems very receptive to our healthy nutrition that we are really trying to get out there.”

Each week, the Brandywine Valley Summer Series features a variety of vendors at the Devon Show Grounds, including the Get Real Get Raw booth. Highlights of the event also include a $3,000 Johnson Horse Transportation USHJA National Hunter Derby held under the lights on Saturday. The hunter divisions at the Brandywine Valley Summer Series offer over $100,000 in prize money over the two weeks, and will range from the professional hunters to the pony hunters.
