Ashley Bond Tidbit

Ashlee Bond’s favorite memory from her summer European tour didn’t happen in the show ring.
“Our first day riding the horses in Europe, I was with Kaylen and Richard Spooner and my dad. We were in La Baule, France, and La Baule is right next to the beach, so we took Cristallo and Paco and Casira Z and Cadett to the beach. We went galloping in the ocean, and it was the most amazing experience. We went out quite far in the water because it stays shallow, and we were out there for about an hour. It was the most fun,” she said.

Davis Gets It Done In Prix Des States

“When you get here, you have to go all out,” Lucy Davis said simply. And go all out she did tonight, Oct. 9, in Harrisburg, Pa. Davis, the lead-off rider for the Zone 10 team in the USEF Prix Des States Team Junior Jumper Championship, conquered in a nerve-wracking jump-off to clinch the gold medal for her fellow Californians—Karl Cook, Paris Sellon and Saer Coulter.

Bond Gets Back To Winning At The L.A. International CSI-W

She and Cadett 7 return from a triumphant summer European tour for victory in California.

There’s just no stopping Ashlee Bond.

After she and Cadett 7 topped last season’s FEI World Cup U.S. West Coast League standings, competed in their first Rolex FEI World Cup Final, and then stormed across Europe on the Super League Nations Cup tour, you’d think Bond would rest a while.

Monk Outruns Them All At AERC National Championships

The game chestnut wasn’t even trying on his way to a blazing time and the best condition title with Lindsay Graham.

Chris Martin had a bit more in his back yard than he first thought.

Monk, the flashy chestnut Arabian gelding Martin “just started playing with,” has now put a gleam of international glory in Martin’s eye. Monk and rider Lindsay Graham cruised to the top of the 100-mile ride at the American Endurance Ride Conference National Championships, held in Greenville, Calif., on Sept. 11-13.

Smith And Galan 195 Get Acquainted At Blenheim

A new partnership proves fruitful for this transplanted Canadian rider.

Becky Smith sat at the in-gate for the $50,000 Blenheim Fall Tournament CSI-W aboard Galan 195 and thought to herself, “Why can’t I win this class?”

So, she galloped into the ring and promptly did so.

Smith and Galan’s score of 1 time fault over the first-round course was good enough for the top check in the feature event of the Blenheim Fall Tournament, Sept. 9-13 in San Juan Capistrano, Calif.

Up Chiqui's Back At The Fidelity Investments Jumper Classic

Kent Farrington’s glad to have his little horse with a big heart back in action.

When Up Chiqui’s on a hot streak, he’s almost impossible to beat.

And at the $75,000 Fidelity Investments Jumper Classic, Up Chiqui was on fire. The feisty chestnut gelding and Kent Farrington notched yet another win in their belt on Sept. 6 in Hampton Falls, N.H.

It was Farrington’s third win in four years at the show—he rode Madison to the grand prix title in 2006 and Up Chiqui to the top in 2007. McLain Ward and Goldika 559, who won in 2008, picked up third this year.
