We had 2 days of torrential rains right before our opener, so we had to tread gingerly. For those who have the patience, here are our photos:
Longacre Hunt 2009-2010 Opener Unfortunately, we lost our fixture that has terrain (due to the divorce of the owners). Now, we are pretty much restricted to this 3000 acre heavily-wood, and relatively flat fixture, near Dobbin, Texas. The owner of this fixture doesn't even hunt or show up for the hunts, so we are really luck to have access to it. |

Cool beans! Looks like it was nice warm weather too! Looks like a lot of meets early in the season around here. Except the jumps aren't optional!
Looks like a friendly group and some nice, nice horses too. Best wishes for a great season. |

Do you have sandy soil down there?? Like Wateryglen offered, it looks warm and inviting and like everyone was having fun!

Those pictures were taken in a field in the woods where it is convenient for the people following the hunt to drive over and take photos. Our other jumps are more "natural". But, we have no actual coops built into fences. This isn't a working ranch, so there are no interior fences.
I don't know if the soil is sandy or not. I think it's a thin layer of loam over light clay. |

It looks great to me. We had several days of rain during last week and then rain all night before and the day of the opening meet I attended. The edges of fields were quite sloppy and slippery. Looks like everyone had a good time.

I was thinking that the horse in pic 254 was certainly looking relaxed heading to that jump. Pic 255 shows just how relaxed he really was!!! Great pics. Looks like a great hunt! Happy season! sylvia

Good to see some familiar horsey faces! Wish I could come down sometime- I have a pony that would just lovvve to hunt and I think she's ready. But it looks like y'all aren't heading up to Flynn this year? If I can find a buddy to come along and ride my mare, I may still make the haul soemtime.
