Thank you! I've always wondered why Gully farted each and every time I picked out his right rear hoof! Now I know!

    Thank you - I think I love you Aggie4Bar.

I DID try it this morning and I was unsuccessful in provoking the, um, fart. The Pony was really put out by it, too, so I didn't go digging around trying to work it out.

Clearly, I need some help - I will join JoZ in her quest for a visual! I'll add another $25 to the Equine Charity of choice for the first video posted. WITH sound, please.

This is one of those very bizarre crossroads when I must struggle with my urge to actually test the "fart button" or leave my horses with their tattered shreds of dignity they so cherish.

I asked my boyfriend if he had a fart button... he ran away from me with his hands over his butt yelling "nooooooo"

At least you had to ask. With mine the button seems to be stuck in the "fart" position!

I must show this thread to someone, how do I get the URL to link to the thread? Right now the URL is just the generic forum listing, not specific for this thread! Help?

I too will add $25.00 to the charity of choice once I have seen with my own eyes a video PROVING I can in fact produce a horse fart. Well, I don't want to produce a horse fart. That would be quite rude but rather produce a fart on command from my horse.

My husband and my two leetle chihuahuas have the same button. It malfunctions a lot and goes off even when it is not pushed.

As the scientist in this group...since videos don't have odor, and anyone can just screw up their nose and say Peeyoo, should someone stand a safe distance away, with the tail out of danger, holding a cigarette lighter? Would this be considered a safe pony club practice?

If you lift your horse’s tail, put your thumb in the hollow space on the inside of its buttcheek just above the, er, outlet valve, and press, you can make the horse fart. Apparently this muscle is flexed (or something) when you pick up a hind foot, which contributes to the passing of gas. My coach was all too amused and delighted at sharing this little tidbit of information with me and demonstrating its effect. And now I pass it on to you!

I can honestly say that I have inadvertently tested this "button" as I clean my mare quite often in this area . . . and no, it does not work for her Although, as someone else mentioned, it could be quite handy if gas colic is suspected . . . maybe it's a "gelding/stud thing" - like most farts!

I am wiping coffee off my keyboard, and wondering how to gently ask Mr. Rebe to turn his fart button to the "off" position...

I'm also hoping that no one where I work walks into my office to find out what I'm laughing at. I'm not explaining this one to ANYBODY.

I tried to find the fart button on my foster horse Desert Spark, owned by SAFE. I found instead the "lift tail up and sideways" button. Is this a different button, or is the fart button dual purpose? Would video of this button qualify for a chance at a SAFE donation?

Regarding the button's operation, do you press straight in, or sideways toward the buttock, or does it swivel like a joy stick?

    Awaiting instructions. Camcorder on stand-by.
