How would you like to be that photographer. I mean Vavra, he's famous for those beautiful blended shots.

This guy? "Oh yeah, that's so and so the photographer, he's the one that took the pictures of Stefan Peters with a giant chubby at WEG and then put it on the cover of all the magazines"
"And remember-if it gets really bad, there's always tequila..." J.P.

    Question

I wasn't going to post in this thread... BUT, I showed the picture in Pratical Horseman to some people and asked, "Do you notice something strange or funny in this picture? Is there anything that pokes out at you?" They couldn't figure it out, so I showed them. They didn't get it and said, "you are seeing what you want to see." What the heck? It's blatently obvious to me! And it's not exactly something I WANT to see in that context!

I just showed the picture to appaloosaman and he doesn't think it is Mr Peters Stiffie. Said something about "the angle of projection" hehehehehe

I was told the same thing, by a lady in our local tack shop. Yeah, like I go looking for stuff like that.

I just stopped in TSC, where I'm a regular so the staff knowsme by name. I picked up the Nov. PH and flipped to page 44, and yup, there it is! There I am standing in TSC looking at a woody. Odd. So I say,
"Tom, look at this"....the manager started laughing so hard I thought he was going to choke. Thank goodness there was a lull in business at that moment because the entire staff came over and was howling over that picture.

Poor, poor, Peters. But, hey, I'm thinking those people at TSC have no clue what dressage is...but they do now . So....he's giving the discipline some exposure. Ahem.

***Just had a conversation with dh and he reminded me of the JS Tropical Riders I had but I returned. They were a size too big, and when I sat down the zipper in the front buckled *EXACTLY* like this. I returned them for a pair that is more snug...something that women can get away with, while men can not.

SO...I believe poor Peters is a victim of an actual wardrobe malfunction caused by loose fitting breeches.

Showed my DH the photo of the wardrobe malfunction, and he studied it and said "Now, what brand of britches are these that cause so much female attention? I must simply have a pair!"

so it isn't just the nag mags getting in on the moolah - that britches company should have had the logo on his bumm-side for more exposure.

You know, Uncle Fester has got me thinking. I don't think it was a conspiracy by the mags to embarrass Stiffen, er, um, I mean Steffen. I think it was a fiendish plot by the German Dressage Team to render him unable to ride. Those in the know realize he is the USET's secret weapon and he will soon lead the US to dressage glory. So they hatch a plot to slip a little long acting Viagra into his drink at every opportunity. He may tough it out for a couple of international competitions but eventually, the pain will become too much, that and the fear that it might "freeze that way" will cause him to retire...prematurely.

    Those damn Germans.

Thank God it wasn't the cover of the Stallion issue...

If he ever gets tired of doing Dressage, he could come show in the Hunter Pleasure classes. The horse that wins should look the most pleasurable to ride, so he would definitely win.

I think Mr. St. iff Y might be the chosen one to initiate Side Saddle Dressage-for males!

Anyone think of asking RIDE for their recycled Oct. issues?

We should mill this thread for new Dressage bumpersticker ideas; Dressage: We Get it Up for a Score....anyone else?

Actually I think it's the saddle too- those knee rolls are just muy bueno-in my eyes...I bet his saddle maker is getting a lot of calls as well- plus it must be mighty comfortable to allow Mr. Johnson to just live in his own huge world...LOL!

I wish I found riding as exciting as Mr. Peter does. I woud definately find the motivation to ride more often. Perhaps I should try dressage, and give up jumping

Has anybody hears what HIS reaction to all of this was? I am sure he has seen and heard all the fuss. I wonder if he just thought it was funny or embarrassing???

I definetely saw Mr Happy again in my USDF magazine. He defintely is making himself well known.

I wonder how comfortable that is for a guy to ride with a HARD ON?
