Periwinkle was shipped back east, IIRC, to the person who bred her. She was bred a few times, including at least once to Diamond Bracelets. I saw a photo of her with one of the foals, but don't know what happened to them or what they did.
I am afraid I only know about horses that were famous BEFORE they went to the west coast, like (Spindletop) Showdown.
(Rider not horse in this case.) I also understand that Susie Schroer made quite a name for herself on the west coast. Somewhere at home I have a picture of her doing "up down" lessons on a VERY small pony.
chief feeder and mucker for Music, Spy, Belle and Tiara. Someone else is now feeding and mucking for Chief and Brain (both foxhunting now).
Aloha Kid was Denize Borges' equitation horse wasn't he? she has a cool picture of him up in her office going over the water at the foxfield finals i believe.
Does anyone remember Idolized? Chestnut hunter. I remember him from when Mickey Krinsky rode him but his daughter was very successful on him when she was a junior if i remember correctly...
That's right Aloha Kid was Denize Borges' horse. She started him as a 3 year old in the hunters and did the hunters and medals on him. I rode with Denize for a short time when we were younger Jrs with a barn called Rushwood back in the early 80's. She and Toni Venza rode there.
Aloha Kid was sold for a nice price to someone in So Cal I think after that.

New convert to the cow horse world.. love my QH mare.
La Gringa, I do not know about Perry Grey, (is that the daughter or the mom?) But I do know Mr. Grey (Gary right?) still rides. I see him at quite a few shows here in the north bay. Not sure who he rides with though.

River Pilot was at Sunwood Farm in Beaverton- he showed there and then was sold; Kim Baker rode him and Don Kerron was the trainer. He was raised in Oregon- I shall ask Don where- - I am thinking it was in Ranier- a bit north of Portland. Pat Crowe- Warren had some very nice horses when we showed in Ca- did she own Just a Star? I know she bought The Chatlaine from a woman named Lynn Chaney. Showing at the A to Z show in Arizona was a big deal as was the Forum and The State Fair in Sacramento.
