We just have fireworks here on Canada Day and Hallowe'en. Most places don't even allow them any other time, except special exemptions, and not personal home fireworks. Perhaps you should start hammering your municipality to make them illegal at other times of the year. I'd hate my
evenings being intruded on like that. Letters to the editor, Mayor, councillors, etc.
You have them on Hallowe'en? We just have them on Canada Day and Victoria Day (aka Firecracker Day when we were kids).
All the towns/cities put on spectacular displays, I don't understand the need for some people (aka our new neighbours ) to set them off in their yard.
We have a bunch of new monster homes on our road, and last year it sounded like downtown Beirut around here.
I wish they would bundle their kids into the minivan, grab some blankets and go to town!!
Cowboymom we can see the top parts of a display some miles away - not quite as effective as being there, but nice.
I worry about the horses too, but luckily they (and the dog) don't seem too worried about them.
