    Major jingles!
Flip a coin. It's not what side lands that matters, but what side you were hoping for when the coin was still in the air.

You call it boxed wine. I call it carboardeaux.

At this point it almost seems like a lost cause. An analyst has speculated that they would be out of fuel by now. Jingling for survivors

There are reports that the Vietnamese Navy confirmed the plane went down in the ocean.

why? what happened? will we ever know?
explosion? inside or outside the plane? experts say that in case of a mechanical problem, pilots usually have time to send a signal... pilot suicide? it's happened before... the weather was fine...

I am glad my DD flew yesterday... not today!

According to reports, all systems went down in unison as it disappeared from radar. Given there was no indication from the pilots that there was a problem, this is consistent with the reports. Its darn near impossible to lose everything at once like that unless the plane exploded in midair. Even pilot suicide, with the pilot turning off tracking, would not necessarily make the plane invisible, its too many systems.

Explosions could be intentional or mechanical malfunctions. The 777 is one of (if not the) safest planes on the market. This would be its first total loss in roughly 10 years of being in service. Weather was reported to be rainy, but not dangerous.

It seems very unlikely to me that if this was some kind of terrorist attack, that no one would make claims. Also, all reports that consider this list China as the target and this is a Malaysian plane.

I feel for everyone on board, and hope, as it seems, that it was quick and they did not have time to worry.

Just how awful. I can't imagine the fear here, on the ground.

I just hope the plane didn't crash in the ocean. Above poster is right- an sudden explosion would probably end all communicae, as well as take things out instantly

More jingles. Please, please, please let everyone be okay...

Yes, the manifest was almost immediately made public. It is easily searchable via Google, I have seen it many times in reading the reports.

And it appears at least 2 of the listed pax (Austrian and Italian) had their passports stolen quite a while ago in Thailand, and were not on this flight. The forum Chall listed has posters telling others to quit freaking out over pax travelling on stolen passports because in happens all the time (which is also quite freaky, hello), but 2 basically unidentified pax on this flight seems worrisome.

Irresponsible to speculate at this time, they don't know anything the general public does not except maybe more familiarity with the airframe, engines and procedures in extended overwater operations. And that's a big maybe.

This one has some similarities to the Air France disappearance that spawned all manner of theories more popular then what actually was found to be the cause when they finally found it 2 or was it 3 years after it vanished. My heart goes out to all involved and what is really a good airline, I'd ride them tomorrow.

Wait and let those who investigate these things and Boeing figure it out. And they will.

They know more than the general public, which is why I posted the site; specifically to get actual pilots information, experiences rather than some sensational news article.
I didnt start this thread, but gave what I thought was better information.
