After recently hearing about another person who lost their barn due to the snow load on the roof, be advised that we are due for a Nor'easter sometime in the middle of this week, and that there is now a model discussion going on on wxrisk.com about the possibility of a classic blizzard coming into our area on March 1st. Here's hoping that tonights rain will get rid of it all so no one has to shovel.
There is a cow farm near me that lost the roof of a metal pole barn. It collapsed in on itself. I talked to the farmer's wife and she said the cows have access to it but don't use it much so were fine. They now raise Angus who all prefer to be outside. When they had the diary cows they loved to hang out in that barn.
A few days later they had just loaded up the trough with hay and that collapsed. No cows injured but they were all right there so it was pretty scary.
Oh, well, clearly you're not thoroughly indoctrinated to COTH yet, because finger pointing and drawing conclusions are the cornerstones of this great online community. (Tidy Rabbit)
