A big full body vibrating whinny from Sam to all the volunteers who have worked so hard to find a safe place for these hard working horses.

Sam raced at Beaulah too, and though Nancy couldn't get him there, they certainly tried and Lord Helpus continued to watch him and finallly managed to get him from his later, much worse track.

He is one of the lights of my life and I feel so grateful to all of you, and Lord Helpus too for not giving up on him.

Thank you for all you continue to do from the bottom of my (and Mr. Sam's!) heart!

Thanks isn't enough for those of you who do this work day in, day out. My hat's off to you. I feel honored to be helping in a small way by giving two of these guys (OTTBs) a home after racing. Someone said they know and are grateful. I think they do.

Talking New pics of Dee Beau Black!

COTH donations were key in allowing CANTER OH to purchase Dee Beau Black, the sweet-natured gelding with the enlarged knee, at the end of the Beulah meet.

CANTER OH volunteer extraordinaire Chris, who has been instrumental in the long process of getting Dee Beau Black to a safe retirement home, sent some pics of the boy in his "layover" digs. He will be heading to his foster home in GA very soon.

Thought everyone would like to see Mr. Dee Beau in his first post-racing-career "glamour shots"! :

    Default here's the list!!

First, I would like to thank Bonnie and all the members of The Exceller Fund who contributed to the rescue of these lovely horses. Baby Niner has already been spoken for, and both Dee and Gold Case Diamond will be going to the farm in Athens, GA. The Exceller folks have always been there in our time of need and we truly do appreciate their support.

The lucky ones from Beulah are:

    Baby Niner (adopted)
    Gold Case Diamond
Born to Run Fast --going to GA!
    City Ridge
    Dee Beau Black

Thank you to Chris, Jean, Amy, Mary, and Mary, and Cassie-- our volunteers down there, and to all of you that helped.

    Nancy

Thanks for the update and the pix.

He is gorgeous! And he is just stretching his neck out to embrace all this new freedom.

    What a lucky boy.
