Bumping for Dee. He's struggled all winter long in races he wasn't ever a factor in and I am afraid of what may happen to him once his connections decide he's finished at the track.

CANTER OH took a new picture of Dee at Beulah. Doesn't he have the kindest eye?:

Thanks to all who have pitched in so far...

and if others can give a donation of ANY amount: it would be wonderful to give this gentle gelding a safe and happy new start after his racing retirement.

Great picture! Is that dappling I see? I think he's running on Wednesday, I'm keeping my fingers crossed that he comes out of it okay and can find a new home soon.

    Default Dee Update

    Hi all,

Between your kindness and our standard offer of $350 we offered $800 to his trainer on Saturday. Another trainer offered $700 so we made sure we were more lucrative. He is entered Wednesday and we'll follow up at that time. As you know we are a rather persistant bunch.

    Thanks to all that contributed!
    Nancy

Just send it, Nancy will verify with everybody.
You could also advise her here that something is coming for Dee.

Default Thank you to the COTH

    To all,

Our Beulah rep called last night and met their offer of $1000, of course he's still in tomorrow but we'll know right after that. Looks good though.

Well...Dee ran 4th in a field of 8 and the chart comment was: "void of early speed, rallied into the stretch on the outside, failed to sustain the bid and ran evenly late". I sure hope this means he can quit running in circles and get another job! ;-)

I thought the trainer was ready to sell, is he going to run him into the ground first? I hope we don't run into another Pal Joey situation.
