Me too.. On Tuesday, I made tons of muffins and banana loaves. Prepared pastry dough and froze it in the pie plates... I also made soup. Today I made raisin cinnamon bread and prepared today's dinner and tomorrow's... And I have tons of butter in the freezer. It's been on sale so I stock up!

We could get 2-4 on Thursday then again on Sat and then on Monday and Tuesday we could possibly get dumped on. I think the one monday/tuesday will break apart before it gets to us and only dump a minimal amount on us.

Good news is temps are to raise. However because of windchills still being bad tonight and Wednesday schools are closing for a third day.

Yeh, I'm getting fed up too here in SW Ontario. Just had my third lesson cancelled b/c it's just too cold. That makes it since Jan 7th that I have not ridden. I think I may forget how soon! It's -36C right now. Ugh. Looks like it might be a balmy -17C by Sunday. Fingers crossed!

Drifts! A few weekends ago, I was going to the barn and I nearly died. Not even kidding. So much snow had fallen and drifted in one spot that the oncoming lane was maybe 2 feet wide. I hit that exact spot, which is at the top of a hill at the same time as an 18 wheeler. I have no idea how I stayed on the road since he was pretty much in my lane. I was shaking! We went by a few days later and whatever cuts the edges off these drifts had been by. So, now it looks like a sheer wall of snow. As the winter goes on, seeing more areas like these.

Let me know when it's June ok?

    You can freeze butter???
    This excites me!
I'm thinking of moving my fridge and stove today and doing a good cleaning/scrub-down...cause it is a complete white-out again! Pretty much ALL roads are closed, no school for the kids again, running low on supplies here...

And I'm down to my last Red Bull

I have always done it... with no ill effects to me or the butter.
It is still cold, but should be better ... haha... with snow tomorrow. I am keeping my fingers crossed that Friday is balmy and fine as I am driving to Montreal. I dread the Trenton - Brockville area... too close to the lake so major risk of white outs... Last year, I saw some 18 wheeler in the ditch, facing the wrong direction, but not jack knifed... I wish I knew how the driver did that!!

My DD's lessons have been cancelled the last 3 Tuesdays as well, but she owns her horse and has been riding him lightly on other days.

Anyone near Orangeville? I heard it became an emergency status yesterday and they were pulling the plows off the roads and shutting everything down. The crews were exhausted and just could not keep up! Today is sunny here in the KW area.

Please no snow or blowing snow tomorrow along 401 Eastbound! and they had another big pile up yesterday. Yes, even in Canada, with snow tires, etc. People still drive too fast and then hit a white out... bang, bang, bang...

We were supposed to get 1-2" of snow last night and instead we have 4-6" and whiteout conditions... guess I will be walking to campus today instead of driving since my car doesn't handle snow well.

    Is it spring yet?

I saw a video of the 100-car (including 35 trucks) pileup in Napanee. It was unbelievable--big semis lying on their sides all over the place. Miracle no one was killed. Ran into a few mini-whiteouts on the way back from the barn yesterday but they were on back roads so no biggy.

Horses finally got outside today at my boarding barn. They have been out a grand total of about 3 days in the last two weeks, because otherwise the barn freezes. Am going to take advantage of the next week or so of decent weather.

Winter loosened it's grip here today with temps to about 30 and wind chill minimal by comparison the last couple of days. But our lovely meteorologists are predicting snow, which we have very little of right now. I'm not concerned about a couple of inches as I'd like to see ALL the frozen ground covered with about 4-6" but no blizzards. This is most certainly not the easiest winter we've had in the last few yrs for sure but it's nothing like a lot of places are getting so I'll keep my bwitching fairly calm.
