Default Epic Train Wreck in Dressage Forum and heads up

Check out the thread about Nick P. Dressage.

Partly sharing b/c it's great train wreck reading... but also as a heads up if this fellow gives you a call.

I had to come back and thank you personally, sole-ly for the fact that it is not often that my jaw literally drops when I see a video. And I haven't even made it to the end.

I am glad that folks could do some investigation so that no horses OR people are hurt in the making of future videos.

OMG! I wasted (well, not really wasted--it was truly entertaining) hours.

It is truly a wonder that you are capable of procreating, Mr. Peronace.
But we are all just dummies, and do not understand how to right "light" with reins of silk! Nick is just "riding deep", he was teaching a horse how to passage for the first time - and you know, THIS is how you do it! Or, Nick's other method is to not use spurs, and then put on BIG ones! That works as well, according to the Maestro.

    You are welcome!

Oh, every page is worth it.

Many people do not appear to understand the concept that if you want something to be private...DON'T PUT IT ON THE INTERNET. It's not like there is a background "upload" function that sucks things in against your will...

    From Post #891, by Appsolute:
What a pompous charlatan. That rider is not holding onto the reins for balance like a rank beginner, she is asking the horse to step very deep, and to travel uphill - and has accomplished that. Wonder why he cropped out the legs of the horse that show that deep step? Which would make it clear that her heel is up because she is using her leg to get that deep step under.

This from a man who's legs swing and bottom bounces ("ass-slapping" has always been frowned upon by my coaches) when cantering. Honestly, that earlier video of "good" riding was not any better than what you can expect to see in the dressage ring at an Event! Most training level riders can sit the canter better - with a still leg.
Wow-- he's not only bad, he's, like, event dressage bad.

Hey - I am an eventer, I wasn't trying to "gab" at event riders, just pointing out that he isn't as good as a lower level rider that specializes in THREE disciplines, let alone someone who is supposed to be a master of one. And I said that the event riders have a better dressage seat than he does.

But hey, its COTH, nickers get bunched left and right.

I must head over to entertain myself since I have nothing to do but sit right now. On a different note that video link you posted I think showed a beautiful, correct passage with a light, tactful rider with the most beautiful invisible aids ;-)

Nickers not bunched at all - I just thought it was really funny.

    I admit it.

    I read it . . . all 54 pages.

I also lost eleventy hundred brain cells in the process but my empty wine glass says it was worth it.

I don't think there's going to be a poof because his misstatements are pretty concretely independently verified. Also, I think he got on the wrong side of the poofers I wonder if he was as charming with them on PM/email as he is all over the public interwebz.

This is not the typical Coth train wreck, but more like a bullet train. Hadn't read anything that good since the horse trainer/murderer thread on OC.
