    Default Ideas for Workout Music?

I've been running to the same music for about 20 years! It is time for a change. Anyone have suggestions? I am mostly a rock music lover but looking for songs with a lot of energy. Thanks!

Pandora radio has a TON of different channels. Plug in an artist you like and they will play songs similar. I write down ones that I really like to download onto my iTunes later.

    Also, Pinterest!

You could try Rammstein. It has a techno sound to it. It's a heavy metal band from Germany.

I like Katy Perry's Roar and Firework... they get me going, and sometimes I put them on to get me through the last bit of running as well. Some people might find her a little too teeny boppery, but whatever gets you going.

For a real change of pace, I suggest the older CDs: Angelique kidjo "Aye" or Dr. Didg "out of the woods".

I like What You know (2 door cinema club), Starry Eyed Surprise (Paul Oakenfield) and when I am feeling like I really need to get the stress out I like old punk from the 70's/80's like the Damned, Sex Pistols, etc. The Damned are probably my all time favorite work out band. Some of their early stuff has the perfect beat for exercising but it is an acquired taste.

Then there are gems like this

    Love me some Pendulum.
I don't really know if they count as "rock" but they are definitely a group that will get you up and going.

My happy Pandora station for busting out workouts or for muscling through loads of deskwork is Zed with Pendulum added in as variety. Then Pandora (of course) mixes in a bunch of other great music as well.

I pretty much love Pandora in general.

Benny Goodman. Just try dogging it to "Sing, Sing, Sing" One version I have is about 8 minutes long. Some days I wonder if it will ever end.

    Beethoven's 9th & the 1812 Overture work well too.

    Marine corps cadences - seriously. Here's a sample http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=J6W2qEg9aK8

Swear to goodness I'm kind of jigging on the bed listening to the sample!

I liked the 80's pop- Paula Abdul, Cyndi Lauper, Oh, Mickey Your So Fine, Wham, Madonna, any of the 80's club music.
And for giggles for warm up there is always The Chicken Dance. It starts off slow and builds.

I have a lot of different music on my workout playlist:
    And We Danced - Hooters
Wake Me Up Before You Go Go
    Blurred Lines
    Cruise
    Roar
    Too Funky
    Thunder Island
    Thunderstruck
    Back in Black
( I like to mix it up)

Macklemore & Ryan Lewis - specifically "Can't Hold Us"

Not an MJ fan, but the Thriller album works for me.
