Default Where to buy cheap nail polish (or other idea)

I live in a fairly rural area and I need to buy something
I can put on my jump standards to mark particular holes
so volunteers can quickly move the cups to the correct
height during competition. I thought I would get a
couple colors of nail polish and put a dot by each correct
hole on the standard, one color for lowest level, a different
color for intermediate, another for highest.

Trouble is, I don't use nail polish and have not bought any
for decades. We have a Walgreen and a Walmart and a
couple dollar stores in town. Where will I find colors of
nail polish cheap? Or can you suggest a better way to
mark the standards? I do want some sort of marking that
can mostly be removed after the competition, either with
    chemicals or by sanding/scraping/peeling.

I would use the permanent markers-Sharpie or Marks a lot, because they won't fade or flake off. I know Sharpies come in a lot of colors. Because you want to remove them after get the wide, clear packing tape (Duck Brand), 2" size, put tape on standard, label, let dry, and put another layer on top of the marker so it stays. The bottom layer on the standard should have a 1/2" or wider end folded over to make a quick removal handle.

Electric tape comes in different colors. I have actually gotten packs of 6 with 6 different colors. If you clean and dry the standard right before you stick on the tape it should stick long enough to get you through the competition. I should also peel off easily and leave no residue.
Oh, well, clearly you're not thoroughly indoctrinated to COTH yet, because finger pointing and drawing conclusions are the cornerstones of this great online community. (Tidy Rabbit)

Grease pencil? You could use one color and mark a "1" for low, "2" for intermediate, "3" for high?

If you want to go the color-coding route, crayons? Seems like they'd stick well and crayons are certainly cheap and readily available.
Everyone is entitled to my opinion.

Thanks for the ideas so far. I did try colored electrical tape
last year and found it just would not stay on the standards.
They have to sit outside in the weather for a few days
before the show date. I do have some crayons around; I'll
see if they will hold up for a few days of outdoor exposure.
Be glad to have any other ideas.

Almost any drug store or Walmart should have the cheap brands of nail polish - Wet n Wild is usually like $1.99 a bottle and is good for the price.
