If the barn management failed to mitigate or remove a bee's nest in your horse's stall, that is 100% on them.
My Percheron took out one of the shelters at my boarding barn last month by leaning on the support post to scratch his neck.
My immediate response: "DH and I will be here tomorrow night with posts & concrete to fix it." BM looked a little dazed, and said "No, that's ok, we've got it covered." She looked even more dazed (and declined again) when I offered to pay for the repairs.
I KNOW my horse is a tank, and will inevitably do some damage. He would take out fence lines at his previous home; current barn has 3-board with 2 or 3 strands of hotwire, which he is respectful of.
"Let's face it -- Beezie Madden is NOT looking over her shoulder for me anytime
soon . . . or ever, even in her worst nightmares."
