Default Medical marijuana for a five year old?

    http://www.breitbart.com/InstaBlog/2...Marijuana-Card

I am truly shocked. Read the whole article and you will be too.

    Because...

The cost is $300 a week, and its not covered by insurance so they are asking for donations to cover the cost.
Meanwhile in other news, a college dorm room found to NOT to be growing pot in a closet has reportedly been found.

I'm not understanding why you're shocked? That it actually helps? That it's bad to give to a child?

Here's another story about a child being helped:
    http://www.cnn.com/2013/08/07/health...ical-marijuana

Do you know how medical marijuana works? What they are giving the child is not a lit joint of some ditch weed they got from the next door neighbor. It's a drug that's now regulated, doctor approved, and clearly immensely helpful in improving these children's lives.

Yeah, what GoForAGallop said. I'm not understanding the shock. The kid is getting medical treatment, end of story.

    So what's the point?

    Pretty much so.
For that kind of money, you can buy pot by the truckload....

That poor family. I hope it gives the child relief.

I don't really understand. We take billions of drugs, some not so safe, that are cranked out by for profit drug companies without blinking an eye. But marijuana might potentially help this child and there are those out there that would judge?

    1) I don't know what you're smoking, girl, but if you're getting truckloads for $300....well....I just feel bad for you.

    2) Like I said above, the kid is not smoking the neighborhood dealer's ditch weed. The drops are highly regulated, pharmacy-produced drugs. That don't happen to be covered by insurance. Anyone who is on regular medication that's not covered by insurance can tell you that $300/week can be getting off cheap, believe it or not. I've checked my drugs before, were I to have to pay for them without insurance.....my monthly asthma medications would cost me $78 and $140 a month, and my birthcontrol, before it was covered, was also around $75/mo. Thankfully, I have great insurance, and it all costs me a grand total of $25 a month.

It's low in THC so it's specialty crop for the grower.

Wish her insurance would cover it. Poor kid.

I'm shocked at the strict regulations (TWO doctors have to sign off on it?? Approval for the caregiver?) and I'm shocked that anyone would have to pay $300 per week for a prescription (but I'm Canadian).

Compare how many people/kids die from misuse of every other prescription drug and how many people/kids die from pot misuse.

    Bizarre.

This is the farm/dispensary that's working on the low THC strain that's been helping all of the seizure victims. I highly suggest that anyone who has issues with the use of marijuana for it's medicinal purposes take a look at this site. The stories are real tear-jerkers.

Yes, I did. But not even the article said anything against its use.

I didn't read the article as I am familiar with her case. It was covered in CNNs "Weed" production.

There's a child in NJ as well who needs it. Her father made a personal appeal to Governor Christie.

The price is somewhat staggering... But what made me WAY more angry with this article is the fact that these parents allowed the barbaric use of SHOCK "TREATMENT" on this poor kid. It's basically torture.

    Only on tv.

Shock treatment is administered under anesthesia. It's painless and effective and it isn't anything like what you've seen on American Horror Story or wherever.
